The Grand Egyptian Museum opens
Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbuli announced this Saturday that the long-awaited opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), scheduled for July 3, has been postponed due to "current events," referring to the escalation between Israel and Iran, and the next date could be later this year.
"As a state, in light of this conflict, we consider it appropriate to postpone the opening of the museum," the prime minister said in a press conference during a visit to Beheira, in northern Egypt.
